Antonella Profumo is Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry (University of Pavia). Her research activity, in collaboration with a team of researchers, concentrates on development, application and validation of selected analytical procedures attractive in the field of green chemistry for determination of emerging organic pollutants in environmental, food and biological matrices; the research lines includes preparation of novel carbon based materials for solid-phase extraction of trace analytes and their chromatographic separation; photocatalytic hydrogen production from renewable biomasses by sacrificial water splitting; investigation of photocatalytic materials (based on graphitic carbon nitride) for photocatalytic ammonia production; analytical determinations for forensic applications. She is co-author of more than 200 peer-reviewed papers.

Teaching for Chemistry Bachelor Degree: Chimica Analitica II (third year, first semester);

Teaching for Chemistry Master Degree: Laboratorio di Analitica III (first year, first semester)

Andrea Speltini is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry (University of Pavia, Italy). His research interests focus on preparation of new sorbents for separation science, essentially sample treatment (extraction, clean up, preconcentration) and chromatography. He is involved in development and validation of analytical methods for trace determination of organic contaminants and drugs in complex matrices, including environmental, biological and food samples. An additional topic refers to analytical-environmental studies for waste biomass valorisation to obtain green hydrogen gas from water via photocatalysis, in the circular economy vision. The results of his research are gathered in more than 80 scientific publications and several oral communications in national/international congresses.

Teaching for Pharmacy Degree: Fondamenti di Chimica Analitica (second year, second semester);

Francesca Merlo, is a Postdoc Fellow Researcher at the Department of Chemistry (University of Pavia). Her research activity focuses on the development of analytical methods for the extraction and enrichment of different classes of emerging pollutants at low concentration in environmental matrices, biological samples and food, and their qualitative and quantitative determination based on chromatographic techniques. She is also involved in the design and preparation of sorbent materials attractive in the field of green chemistry.  An additional research topic concerns the development and optimization of analytical methods for the determination and quantification of solar fuels, mainly ammonia.

Petra Bianchini is PhD Student in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Industrial Innovation (XXXVII Cycle PON) at the University of Pavia. Her research activity focuses on the preparation of new materials from (waste)biomass for different applications, from the preconcentration of emerging pollutants afore their HPLC-MS/MS separation and determination, and for photocatalytic hydrogen production.
